Growing Fast, Slow, and In Between

As my garden has had time to germinate and begin growing, I have noticed how some plants grow quicker than others and vice versa. The seeds I planted in the beginning (bell peppers, basil, sunflower, zinnia) all started growing slowly and are now picking up. The bell peppers started germinating so late that I had almost lost hope on them! My onions have not grown, and I admit that I think I planted the seeds in wrong with the roots facing up rather than down... That being said, my pole beans, radishes, and lettuce seeds sprouted extremely quickly! I'd like to think it's because I have gotten better at gardening but it is likely just the type of seeds. It's interesting how some seeds take longer than others to show growth, but the wait is worth it!

Now that my bell pepper and basil seeds have grown in their peat pellets, I have made the transition and transplanted them into larger soil-filled pots this week. I am hoping that they don't die and am paying special attention to how much water and sunlight they're receiving. Hopefully they're alright when I post again next week. Below is a picture of my newly transplanted pepper and basil plants. If they grow fast enough, I'll be PINCHing them soon!
