Healthy & Happy Microgreens
This week I've started my most exciting project yet - planting microgreens! I have never grown microgreens myself, but I have eaten them a lot and am familiar with how they should look when fully grown. To start, I put my mystery microgreen seeds in a wet fiber pad and sealed them up in foil for three days. I loved how simple and mess-free a fiber pad was versus using soil to grow other crops. I am now past the three-day mark and unwrapped my seeds so they can grow in the sunlight. After watering them in a bright windowsill for 10 days, they should be fully grown. The sprouts look healthy so far and I am so excited about harvesting them in such a short amount of time. I think my issue with the other crops is how long you have to wait until harvest and how much can go wrong in that time. As a beginner, I feel like growing microgreens within 10 days are much more manageable than starting off with a plant that must be taken care of for 4 months before fully grown.
Below you can see a picture of my microgreens after 3 days in the sunlight. They are healthy and growing in a recycled berry container.
