Ginger Regrowth - Week 2
I am on my second week of regrowing a piece of ginger and unfortunately, not much has happened! The ginger piece had been wrapped in a wet paper towel in the refrigerator for ten days. When I unwrapped the paper, I noticed no buds or sprouts except for a small amount of mold growing on the bottom of the ginger piece. I am unsure why there was no growth and don't know what I did wrong! I decided to trim the ginger piece with a clean knife so there was no more mold remaining on it and replaced the paper towel surrounding it. Hopefully, this does the trick and gets my ginger piece growing! If not, I may have to start over. I chose to regrow ginger as it seemed like a simple regrowth project for a beginner. It may not have been simple enough for me!
You can see the current state of my ginger propagule below. There is some slight mold on the bottom that has now been removed. The buds on the sides of the propagule look slightly shriveled but nothing alarming. I think there is still life left in my propagule and am hoping that it will sprout the next time I check on it!
